A Born Runner

When I think back to middle school and remember how they required every student to run the oh-so-dreadful MILE, I simply cringe.  I was the student who was inflicted by mysterious leg cramps, or had that terrible cold that seemed to be 'going around'.  Today, my feelings on running haven't changed much.

This is precisely why I admire Jen for her athleticism.  Since the time I met her, over two years ago, she has talked about, lived & breathed, and even studied marathon running.  Her passion for the activity is intense and quite inspiring.   And now, she is a fresh face for the ambassador of The San Francisco Marathon!

Engaged: Karyna & Ben --Part 1

Hanging with Karyna and Ben for the afternoon felt like a trip down memory lane to those nostalgic high school days.  The days where friends would get together, shoot the shit, talk about life, and laughter occupied the room.  This couple is fun-loving and down right hilarious.  The energy they have when around each other is completely contagious.  I'm happy to see Ben meet a gorgeous, intelligent woman who he can laugh with.  As they would joke with each other in between poses I also caught them in moments of silence.  Where time stopped, eyes locked, and sweet kisses were exchanged. Their love filled the building- and it was one BIG building!!

Unfortunately, their photo shoot could not be finished due to rain.  Fortunately, for me, I get the pleasure of shooting this awesome couple again!!!

A weekend with the Pops

From coaching my softball team as a kid to watching football games on Thanksgiving Day, my dad is a BIG sports fan.  Some of my earliest memories are of him yelling at the television set - as if the players could actually hear him!  It's because of this man that I have become a fan of sports.  While I'm not quite the avid follower he is, he has taught me about the heart that goes into the game.  I got to enjoy his sweet company when he came to visit me in San Francisco and took me to a 49ers game, a first for both of us.  Having my dad around means that he is constantly one-upping me on the sarcastic remarks, a challenge that I fully embrace, yet shamefully bow down as his are always more clever.  I cherish the time I can spend with him.  My dad is a youthful, fun-loving, warm, and kind man with a huge heart.  Not to mention an adorable person.  I love ya pops!

Engaged: Stephanie & Morgan

Eight years.

They've been together for eight years!  It is undeniable the amount of change one person goes through in this length of time. All of the joy, pain, growth, and happiness that can happen in eight years is exhausting to think about, and only to realize that you're not the same person as you were.  It's simple, people change over time. With these two individuals I can't help but realize that, having been together for eight years, means they are not simply in love with the person they once knew, but rather the ever-changing person their loved one is becoming.  That, right there, is undeniably romantic.  For Stephanie and Morgan, their commitment has clearly been fueled by their passion for knowledge, fun spirit, and love of good music.  Here's to celebrating the past eight years, and well wishes to the evolving future ahead of you two!  Congratulations!
